MONSTERS AND MYTHICAL BEASTS

Kelpie

The Kelpie is a shapeshifting sea monster from Gaelic folklore. Typically it takes the form of a beautiful stallion or a handsome young man. This lures its victims into touching it.

Once the victim touches the Kelpie, it tangles them in its hair or mane as it transforms, then returns to the freezing waters to devour (or sometimes even take prisoner) the helpless human.
